USA Relief - Map Compensation Factors by Latitude


One degree of longitude at the equator = 69.2 miles. As you go North or South, one degree of longitude decreases in size as the latitude increases. The Width Compressor factor indicates how much a map distance at the equator should be shrunk or compressed for the given latitude.
